Porsche in the US is now offering owners the opportunity to search for production and technical information about their vehicle with a new online tool.

The Porsche Vehicle Documentation site allows owners to find out more about their car using the VIN (vehicle identification number).

The new site means owners can now request a Porsche Production Specification and a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate, as well as some other documentation. These details will confirm the original production card specification of any car and its date of completion.

With the Classic Technical Certificate, owners can also have an inspection carried out at a Porsche dealership in the US to determine how close the car is to the original specification. Afterwards, the results are presented in a wallet with photographs.

The cost of the Porsche Production Specification is $125, while the Porsche Classic Technical Certificate costs from $500.
