Availability of classic fuels reported by HCVA
The Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance has presented information to the Transport Select Committee on the need for future availability of fuels for classic cars.
Guy Lachlan, Managing Director of Classic Fuels and a Founding Partner of the HCVA, was at the meeting and gave evidence to show the ongoing need for fossil and synthetic fuels for classic vehicles.
During the Select Committee meeting, Guy Lachlan said: ‘We are open to the idea of electrification, but there are some vehicles that too historically important to convert. Most classic vehicles simply don’t get used enough for the EV conversion argument to stack up.
‘We are looking for a liquid fuel solution that will let our vehicles run on them without wasting more emissions in the conversion process.’
Garry Wilson, HCVA CEO, added: ‘Guy did an outstanding job of representing the HCVA and therefore the whole historic and classic vehicles sector. Several of the MPs attending the meeting spoke with Guy afterwards and all are supportive of ensuring the ongoing supply of fuels for historic and classic vehicles into the future.’
