The Beast created by John Dodd has sold at auction through Car & Classic for £72,500.

Powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 aero engine, the value of The Beast was very difficult to predict when it was first advertised for sale via Car & Classic.

The car came up for sale when John Dodd died in December 2022. It was originally built by Paul Jameson in 1966 before Dodd acquired it and became synonymous with the ‘worlds’ most powerful car’ as it was described in the 1977 Guinness Book of World Records.

Tom Wood, CEO of Car & Classic, said: ‘This is a genuine once in a lifetime opportunity and I hope the lucky new buyer continues to use and enjoy the car the way John did.’
