First classic sale of 2023 exceeds estimates for LMA
Letchworth Motor Auctions (LMA) enjoyed strong prices at its first classic car sale of 2023. Among the lots exceeding their estimates was a 1985 Renault 5 GTL that made £5450 against an estimate of £3500-£4500.
With a catalogue full of more affordable modern classics, LMA sold 60% of lots at this auction.
Other cars to perform well included a Saab 900S Aero Turbo with an estimate of £1000-£2000 that sold for £3924.
LMA’s Managing Director Simon Morgan said: ‘We were very pleased to offer such a strong variety of classics in our March sale, with 60% of the cars offered finding new owners. We would have liked that number to be higher, of course, but set against a backdrop of continuing economic challenges, we remain happy with the results. As financial pressures ease, we’re confident we can look forward to even stronger sales.’
