Escort is most popular with online buying searches
The Ford Escort is the most searched for car by buyers, according to data from Car & Classic.
Ford was also the most popular brand for online buyers to look up, with the Escort, Capri, and Cortina accounting for more than half of searches. The Mustang has seen a drop in searches in the 2022 data compared to the previous year, while the Fiesta has enjoyed a rise in interest.
Other popular models searched for on Car & Classic are the Porsche 911, Triumph Stag, Jaguar E-type, BMW, 3 Series, Volkswagen Golf, and MGB.
For makes, Ford is followed by Triumph, Jaguar, Porsche, Volkswagen, BMW, MG, Land Rover, Rover, and Toyota.
Among the models seeing a rise in online searches are the Porsche 924, and Toyota MR2 and Supra. This shows a growing market for more modern classic cars.
