The Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Ancien (FIVA) and Glasurit have renewed their partnership for a further three years on technical paint issues.

FIVA will have access to Glasurit’s technical knowledge for classic car paint-related questions, and the renewed deal was signed at BASF’s headquarters in Münster, Germany.

Uta Holzenkamp, President of BASF’s Coatings division, said: ‘The partnership with FIVA is a long-term success story for both sides, as more and more countries show interest in historic vehicles, and an increasing number of enthusiasts ask for refinishing in paintwork that matches the original as closely as possible.’

The main objective of the collaboration is to provide historic vehicle owners worldwide with access to the best repair and restoration solutions via a network of specialised workshops. Experts can help in the search for the original colour shade, and in the careful preservation or repair of old paintwork.

President of FIVA, Tiddo Bresters, said: ‘FIVA is delighted with this partnership. Paint preservation and technical processes are very important to FIVA and its members and Glasurit, thanks to both its in-depth knowledge of paintwork in historic vehicles and its passionate approach, plays a major role.’
